Building the Sensory Nervous System for Planet Earth
Spectralis AI was founded on a simple conviction: the critical signals that govern our climate, energy infrastructure, and planetary security exist across electromagnetic frequencies invisible to human eyes and conventional cameras.
Executive Leadership
Direct operations & engineering steering committee
Julian Thorne
Prior to founding Spectralis AI, Julian Thorne served as Principal Imaging Scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), where he developed neural de-scattering algorithms for spaceborne spectrometers. He completed his Ph.D. in Computational Imaging and Applied Mathematics at Stanford University and holds 24+ peer-reviewed publications across CVPR, IEEE T-GRS, and Nature Geoscience.
Dr. Maya Lin-Vance
Dr. Lin-Vance was an ESA Copernicus AI Fellow and holds an Oxford Ph.D. in Atmospheric Physics. She pioneered the joint optical-SAR cross-attention mechanism enabling cloud-penetrating synthetic aperture radar reconstruction during dense monsoonal coverage.
Cmdr. Robert Vance
With 18 years overseeing satellite constellation deployments at Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Robert leads our orbital payload integration, spacecraft bus interfacing, and ITAR compliance operations.
Dr. Zachary Chen
Former CERN Large Hadron Collider researcher specializing in distributed high-throughput tensor parallelization. Zachary architects our multi-node cluster training fabrics and radiation-tolerant edge quantization compilers.
Scientific & Defense Advisory Board
Advising on synthetic aperture radar phase synchronization and hyperspectral radiative transfer formulation.
Advising on dual-use tactical downlink protocols, dark vessel radar interdiction, and ISR integration.
Advising on CH4 point-source spectroscopic calibration and EU CSRD emission compliance frameworks.
